Capchem Attended The Annual Meeting of the International Battery Materials Association

From September 8 to 13, 2024, the Annual Meeting of the International Battery Materials Association (IBA 2024) was held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Capchem was invited to participate in the meeting, which is one of the most influential international academic conferences and communication platforms in the global battery field. This conference brings together world-renowned experts and researchers in the fields of battery-related electrochemistry, materials chemistry and energy chemistry, mathematical and physical sciences, etc., to discuss and share the latest scientific research results and industry dynamics.

At the meeting, Dr. Yunxian Qian, general manager of Capchem's battery chemicals division, delivered an important report on behalf of the company with the theme of “High Performance Electrolyte Solutions for High Energy Density Lithium-ion Battery”. Dr. Qian mentioned that Capchem focuses on the research and development, production, sales and service of battery chemicals. At present, Capchem has introduced safer, more efficient and greener innovative solutions to the common problems faced by high energy density battery systems and the challenges of traditional electrolyte additives such as poor structural stability, interfacial side reactions, unstable quality, poor environmental protection, etc. Capchem's self-design additives have the advantages of  balance for the high and low temperature performance, stable and high quality, safety and environmental friendly, etc., and have obtained multiple patents, which will provide a new path to solve the industry's pain points.

Halifax being only a short flight from the United States and Europe, provides a platform for the integration of basic academic research fields and the battery industry, and also promotes the regional integration value chain in Europe and the United States.Capchem always keeps pace with the global carbon neutral trend and new energy development. In Europe, Capchem Poland's lithium battery electrolyte project with a capacity of 40,000 tons/year has been put into production. And, Capchem Poland and German customers signed about 1.1 billion euros long order, agreed from 2025 to 2034 to provide customers with lithium battery electrolyte. In the U.S., Capchem intends to invest no more than 120 million U.S. dollars to build a battery chemicals production base in Ohio, is expected to be put into production in 2026; Louisiana project is also continuing to promote the preliminary work. As of June 2024,Capchem has nine battery chemicals production bases to realize delivery security globally. The company actively integrates the supply chain and vertically lays out new lithium salts, additives and solvents and other raw materials, providing customers around the world with a stable supply of battery materials and accelerating the global energy transition.

In the future, Capchem will deepen its internationalized strategic layout driven by innovation, provide innovative and sustainable solutions for the global battery industry, and join hands with global partners to create a green and sustainable bright future.
