Recently, the ACS Energy & Fuels Division held an award ceremony in San Francisco，at which Research Excellence Award in Electrochemical Energy Storage (EES Award) has been awarded to Dr. Shirley Meng from the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory. Dr. Meng is one of the world's top experts in the field of energy storage and conversion nanomaterials. She devotes to developing and improving the efficient and sustainable energy storage technology. Up to now, she has published 285 papers and has been recognized as a winner of the Michael Faraday Medal of Royal Society of United Kingdom，and a fellow from the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Materials Research Society.

The EES Award was officially launched in 2021, and sponsored by Capchem USA, mainly to recommend the outstanding scholars who have made significant original contributions to research and development in the field of electrochemical energy storage. This Award aims to promote excellence in electrochemical energy storage research and energy transformation, and to contribute to carbon reduction and carbon neutrality worldwide.

To further go global, Capchem plans to set up multiple bases in North America for production of lithium-ion battery electrolytes and carbonate solvents.
